Calculator assumes you use the full bucket. If your usage varies month-to-month, the rollover means a high-usage month is partly subsidised by previous low-usage months. Hobby is shown as one-time only — it tops out at 30 minutes lifetime.

What does “unused hours roll over once” mean?
On Pro you get 25 hours each month. If you only use 8, the remaining 17 are added to your next month's bucket — so your next month effectively has 42 hours available. But the rollover only stretches one cycle: anything still unused at the start of month-after-next expires. PAYG credits and the free-tier 30 minutes never expire — only the subscription bucket has the rollover cap.
What happens when I exceed my bucket?
You're billed at the per-minute rate for that plan ($0.05–0.07/min depending on tier). No limits, no surprise denial — uploads continue, the overage is added to your next invoice. We'll email you when you hit 80% of your bucket so there are no surprises.
Can I switch plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Stripe prorates automatically — pay only for the difference, and the new bucket kicks in immediately. Manage from your billing page (Stripe-hosted Customer Portal).
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. Hobby gives you 30 minutes lifetime, no card. That's long enough to transcribe a typical interview or a short episode. Add a card whenever you're ready to keep going.
Are workspace seats really free?
Yes. Pro includes up to 10 seats sharing the same credit pool — no per-seat fees, ever. Scale is unlimited seats. Our wedge against Otter is exactly this: stop taxing the team.
